Anti-Racism
Understanding, confronting and dismantling racism together
This is a space where you can access vital information, tools and strategies to actively engage in anti-racist practices, both personally and professionally.
What is anti-racism?
Anti-racism is the active process of identifying and challenging racism by changing systems, organisational structures, policies, practices and attitudes. Unlike non-racism, which is simply the absence of racist behaviours, anti-racism requires a conscious effort to combat racial inequality and promote equity. It involves recognising the existence of systemic racism, understanding its effects and taking intentional steps to dismantle these structures of oppression.
Why is anti-racism important?
Racism, in all its forms, is deeply embedded in many aspects of society, creating disparities in education, healthcare, employment and justice. The impact of racism is profound, affecting individuals and communities, often perpetuating cycles of disadvantage and discrimination. By embracing anti-racism, we commit to addressing these inequalities and creating a more just and inclusive society.
Whether you are just beginning to explore the concepts of anti-racism or are already actively involved, the resources below are here to assist you in making meaningful progress. Together, we work towards creating workplaces and a society that is not just free of racism but actively works against it, fostering an environment of equity, inclusion and respect for all.
