Your offer of employment
Prior to your start in post, there may be a need for you to confirm with third parties your offer of employment.
We're able to confirm your offer of employment for the following reasons:
- For a rental agreement
- For a mortgage application
However, we're only able to provide limited information for these purposes. We will confirm your personal details including speciality, grade and NHSE region plus the following depending upon the reason for the request. No other details can be provided. Confirmation of Offer of Employment – FAQs
- I'm starting my training in August, can I have an employment letter?
A confirmation of offer of employment can only be provided once an official offer of employment has been issued.
- Can the confirmation include my basic income with any additional elements?
Your basic salary will be included. However, your additional elements can only be provided when we have recieved a copy of your work schedule. This is usually 8 weeks prior to your start date. You're advised to submit a further request nearer to your start date.
- Can the wording be changed from conditional to unconditional?
Your offer will remain conditional until ALL pre-employment checks have been completed.
- Can I have my placements added to my letter?
As this is confirmation of an offer of employment, your placement cannot be provided.
- I'm thinking of going less than full time. Can this be included in the confirmation of offer of employment letter?
This can only be provided if NHS England have confirmed you will start on reduced hours. This will be reflected in the confirmation of contracted hours.
