Becoming a Local Negotiating Committee Representative

We understand the importance of listening to the voices of our trainees and pro-actively addressing issues which may impact you during work and training.

Working closely with the British Medical Association (BMA), there are a number of locally BMA accredited Local Negotiating Committee (LNC) representatives throughout our regions who attend quarterly joint LNC meetings with senior representatives from our team - a full time BMA Industrial Relations Officer (IRO) also attends.

What is an LNC?

LNCs are made up of elected local representatives (all trainees employed by the LE) who consult and negotiate with our Senior Leadership team on behalf of all medical and dental staff within their accredited regions.

LNC representatives raise issues on behalf of colleagues collectively via the LNC framework in relation to terms and conditions of service and working arrangements.
