Industrial Action (IA)
For colleagues-in-training who participate in the June 2024 strike action, you will need to fill in a short online form to confirm this. You will find the form on our Industrial Action FAQs page.
Information for GP Practices only - ESR Guidance
To ensure that any industrial action (IA) undertaken by resident doctors on placement at your practice is reported correctly, we have developed a guide to support the input of these details directly into ESR.
It is extremely important that this information is inputted into ESR by 10am at the latest, on the day of IA. This will have a direct impact on the resident doctor’s pay and therefore must be accurately recorded.
No action is required to be completed in ESR where a resident doctor does not participate in IA and attends work as normal.

Taking Part in Industrial Action
For staff who are members of the Trade Union, bringing the action will be protected, regardless of whether or not they voted in the ballot, and whether they voted for or against industrial action (IA).
Staff who are in a Trade Union that is different to the one bringing the action will be deemed to be taking unofficial IA if they decide to take part and will not have the same protection.
The table below sets out in a simple form which staff will be entitled to take part in IA:
