Sexual Safety Charter – Important Information
Published: 22nd August 2024
At Lead Employer we are committed to implement the principles of the sexual safety charter in line with NHS guidelines.
The 2023 NHS staff survey saw the highest levels of discrimination reported by staff and organisations are also seeing a sharp rise in domestic abuse cases.
Sexual safety can be defined as feeling safe from any behaviour, circumstances, or environments that a person may perceive to be a sexual harm to themselves. Feelings of safety are individualised, and each person will have different situations that may cause them to feel greater or lesser safety from sexual harm.
Sexual safety is everybody’s business. All trainees and hosts have a responsibility to work towards eradicating all forms of sexual misconduct, violence, harassment and assault in the workplace.
