Brew Monday - improving our mental wellbeing

Published: 15th January 2024

The third Monday in January is commonly referred to as the most difficult time of the year.

We know a combination of hectic work schedules, financial struggles and post-Christmas blues may be some of the reasons why January can feel like a challenging month to get through. These pressures can spark feels of depression and general low motivation; that can also happen at any time.

Every year, we help raise awareness of Brew Monday to help beat the January blues. Organised by the UK-based charity Samaritans, the campaign encourages people to come together on this day with friends and family to have a cup of tea or coffee to support each other and help combat loneliness.

How to get involved?

If you’re wanting to get involved in today’s Brew Monday, here's some ideas that you may wish to do:

- Go for a walk with loved ones

- Meet up with family, friends or colleagues for a brew

- Spread the word online using the hashtag (#BrewMonday)

- Try to find some time to relax
