Stay well this winter

Published: 11th December 2023

The colder months can present additional pressures and difficulties for us all.

Here at Lead Employer we want to ensure you’re supported to keep yourself well this winter.

Just because Christmas and the new year is upon us, it doesn’t mean the challenges day to day life throws at us magically disappear.

Whether it’s mental health struggles, financial problems, or something else that is impacting your wellbeing, support is available to help combat pressure points you may be facing.

No one should suffer in silence. Here are some useful resources you may wish to check out.

You okay, Doc?

You okay, Doc’s mission is to change the perceptions of mental health for those working in the medical sector and to develop bespoke mental health support for doctors.

They provide a free, confidential text support service for doctors. A perfect tool to utilise if you’re struggling with issues such as stress, anxiety and/or depression.

Mind

With plummeting temperatures, shorter days and long working hours, mental wellbeing can often be negatively impacted.

The mental health charity Mind provide crucial information and valuable tips on how you can help improve mental state.

Campaign to End Loneliness

The Campaign to End Loneliness believe that people of all ages need connections that matter. There are nine million lonely people in the UK who lack the friendship and support we all need. Their vision is that everyone can live a life free from chronic loneliness.

Especially over the festive season, the impacts of loneliness can be hugely detrimental. Check out the support and resources they have available at the above.

Cheshire and Merseyside Resilience Hub

The Cheshire and Merseyside Resilience Hub are providers of high quality free and confidential psychological interventions for NHS staff.

Later this month they are running two virtual sessions focusing on how to avoid burnout and improving sleep, to help you improve mental wellbeing over the winter period.

Monday 18th December - burnout workshop - sign up here!

Thursday 21st December - Getting a better night's sleep - sign up here!

Also find a range of other wellbeing events at our events section. This page is regularly updated with new upcoming events so be sure to bookmark for quick access.

Wellbeing Hub

You can also find a range of support at our wellbeing hub to support you over the coming weeks and months. Within the hub you can find access to bereavement support. Over the festive period, we appreciate how the impacts of grief can be particularly tough and bring with it emotions that can be difficult to control.

Please don't suffer in silence this winter. Access the resources signposted on this page and also remember to follow our social media channels where we'll be regularly sharing important support information.
